“I had my son in May and I cannot express how meaningful it was to have Catherine as our doula. It being my first birth, I had read everything I could about labor and delivery, practiced countless relaxation techniques and meditations, did every stretch in the book and did all the preparation I could think of. While knowledge of the process surely helped me, in the moment all my plans went out the window. Having someone there who can work with you to manage the pain makes an impact that a book never could. When there is little to no down-time between contractions, a calm and knowledge person who doesn’t have the hospital’s agenda in mind is a priceless resource. Having Catherine there for my birth helped me to focus on the experience of having my baby and helped my husband to be present. She offered options when I needed them and knew when to let me focus in silence. In addition to her training and experience, her peaceful and reassuring personality made a huge difference in how calm I was able to stay through contractions. She was creative in pain management ideas and gave useful options (but not too many that it became a distraction). She was unaffected by any hiccups in the process, too. She knew by birth plan by heart and was able to balance what I wanted with what I needed in the moment. I’m so thankful she was a part of the experience and would recommend her services to anyone.”

“As a man, I was initially skeptical of why we would need a doula when we had already had three children and were now expecting our fourth. Fortunately, my wife insisted and we hired Judith and I can now say that I am very glad and relieved that we did. Judith made the delivery experience easier in so many ways for both my wife and me…Judith is a strong advocate for the mother in the labor and delivery room and really helped us think through decisions and pick the best alternative which can be very important with pushy medical personnel. Having a practiced doula by my side to help me help my wife was crucial. I was able to grab a coffee or snack and to just mentally recharge during what can obviously be a long process. You can really tell that the birthing process is something that is deeply important to Judith, which manifests itself in how she helps care for the mother and father during the whole process. In fact, our entire experience was so good with our fourth child, that we had no hesitation in also hiring Judith to help with the delivery of number five just a few months ago!”

“….she was so thorough and clear with her advice and recommendations, she was kind and gentle, and she made my husband and I feel so peaceful and competent. I felt mentally and physically prepared because of her preparations with us. During labor, she was supportive without being overbearing. She knew when to step in and offer help, and she also knew when to stay in the background and let my husband and I labor alone. Catherine is knowledgeable, generous, prayerful, and personable. I would recommend her to anyone approaching labor!”

“Judith was outstanding for us as first time parents. We were unsure if we should go with a doula and were so glad we did! We had no experience and little understanding of what was going to happen in labor and delivery. She walked us through the process and answered any questions we had. She was present the whole time and gave us direction and support the whole labor and delivery process of which we needed. She was hands down the best decision we made for my pregnancy and labor and delivery journey. She gave advice on ways my partner could support me and was an advocate for my medical team when needed. She listened to what I wanted for my birth wish and was closely aligned with that process. She recommended different birthing positions and helped with breathing through contractions. I would highly recommend a doula for support, and especially Judith with her knowledge of labor and delivery.”

“Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers — strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength."
